From Raw Footage to Final Cut: Our Wedding Film Workflow

May 2026

A peek inside how we handle 6–10 hours of footage and shape it into a cinematic film your family will watch for decades.

Before the Day

A great wedding film starts weeks before anyone picks up a camera. We sit down with every couple to learn the non-negotiable moments — the first look, a private vow reading, a grandparent’s toast — so we know exactly where to be and when. We confirm the timeline with the planner, scout the venue’s light, and plan our coverage so nothing important happens off-camera.

On the Day: Two Shooters, Always

We cover weddings with at least two operators so we’re never forced to choose between the bride’s reaction and the groom’s. We shoot on Sony A7S III bodies for their low-light performance in dim churches and reception halls, capture clean audio from the officiant and toasts with dedicated mics, and grab the ambient sound that makes a film feel alive. Every important moment is covered from two angles.

The Edit

This is where the story gets built. We back up every card twice before we leave the venue, then comb through hours of footage to find the honest moments — the held breath before the vows, a dad wiping his eyes. We cut to the real audio from the day, color-grade for a warm, timeless look rather than a trend that will feel dated in five years, and license music that fits the couple’s energy.

Most couples receive a three-to-five-minute highlight film plus a longer feature cut, delivered in an online gallery you can share with family anywhere. From the first planning call to final delivery, the goal never changes: a film that puts you right back in the room every time you watch it.
